Director Statement
As a filmmaker, my purpose is to create films that resonate deeply, shedding light on personal and societal truths through compelling stories. My journey began in the theater under the mentorship of an acting coach and playwright who taught me the power of storytelling to reveal raw, unfiltered human experiences. Inspired by that foundation, I aim to craft narratives that go beyond mere entertainment, striving to foster empathy, spark conversation, and provoke thought.
Echoes of Town Lake is a reflection of this mission—a story that confronts trauma, resilience, and the transformative power of self-discovery. In telling Ava’s story, I wanted to bring audiences into her emotional landscape, one that is scarred yet hopeful. This film speaks to anyone who has faced adversity, offering a message of survival and self-empowerment. With a background in photojournalism, I bring a visual style that seeks to capture both beauty and pain, creating an experience that feels authentic and relatable.
Cinema, to me, is a bridge between personal experience and universal truth. With each project, I strive to push beyond traditional narratives, challenging viewers to see the world—and each other—through a lens of compassion. I am deeply honored by the support and recognition my work has received from audiences and festivals around the world. It is this dialogue with viewers that drives me to continue exploring and expanding the possibilities of cinema.
